Oops

I made a mistake. We've literally gotten 0 views since I changed the blog to XIV Fashion. So we're Moogle Fashion again. I'm sorry I derped ;_;

Changed the blog name.

Sure did! As you've already noticed, the blog is now called XIV Fashion. Why? Well, we discovered a problem today: The name of the game we're playing is barely mentioned anywhere! How are people supposed to find this site in their search engines?! Ultimately we chose to go with XIV Fashion for pragmatic reasons. Sure, it's not a very interesting name. But when people look for XIV outfits, they aren't googling 'Moogle Clothes'. Already this name change has turned up an increase in activity. And of course I just redid the banner. I'm not in love with it, but it'll do for now. The problem with the old one was that we were using some fan art without permission from the artist, and I didn't really feel comfortable continuing that. So now we have these little Lalafells, at least for awhile. 

Re-tagging

I completely redid the tags this morning. The old system was inconsistent, convoluted, and generally useless. The new system is a lot simpler: Click your job, see outfits you can wear. I'm going to play around with the settings and see if we can't do more advanced searches (multiple jobs, all jobs, etc). Ideally I'll be able to throw up some buttons with some fancy graphics and everything will be awesome.

LoZ group

Check this out! It's a Legend of Zelda group costume. They're missing purple link, but we can probably forgive that. I don't have a gear list for this, I just thought it was really badass and these guys should be recognized! 

500+ views

We hit 500 page views early this morning. That's pretty exciting for a little blog like ours! No followers yet, but that's not really significant. My experience with these sorts of pages is that people visit a couple times to find a gear set they really like, but don't tend to come back once they're done. So I personally don't believe we'll ever accumulate a lot of followers. What I'm really hoping for is to start generating more feedback. I've had some discussions about the blog on Reddit and whatnot, but ideally these interactions should be taking place on Moogle Fashion itself. 

Promoting the page has become slightly more challenging in the last week, notably due to me being *PeRmAnEnTlY BaNnEd* from the official forums. Long story short, everyone was arguing about Atmas, emotions were running high, and I maaaaay have said the 'fuck' word. Unbeknownst to me at the time, that is a bannable offense over there. Permanently bannable, it seems. I may use Tsuruya's account to post there at some point, but for now I'm trying to get in with some 3rd-party channels. I also have some friends in the Final Fantasy facebook community, so I may begin promoting there as well. As always, the ultimate goal is to get more people sharing outfits, and more people seeing them. 

venting

So I've convinced a friend of mine to level up armorsmithing for the purposes of making more outfits. I honestly have no idea if he'll stick with it, but his progress so far has been excellent, so I have hope. 

You know, it wouldn't even be an issue if FFXIV had a model-viewer program. Yes, I know there's that one, but it doesn't honestly do much. However, if we had one like WoW has, I could probably do multiple outfits every day, rather than the slow trickle I'm doing now. 

To worsen matters, I'm having trouble getting anyone on the forums to consent to letting me use their screenshots for this blog. Likely this is due to the thread moving so fast that they never see it (or they never check back to begin with), but the issue remains. I had considered just using them without permission but... well, ethics and all that. 

Just a reminder: If you have a vanity set, I WANT TO SEE IT! 

New House!

Sorry I haven't been active for several days. My FC (Barrett's Privateers, Siren NA) just got through with a big push to raise money and buy a house. It's not much, but it's home! We're going to style it as a port tavern, and it'll be the best. 

By the way, if anyone is on the Siren server, or looking to be, you're always welcome to sign on with our crew! Really the only requirement is that you're not a total dick :P Anyway, expect a new outfit either tonight or tomorrow. This time it'll be a lalafell! 

A quick update

Just wanted to remind you that I do accept viewer submissions. In fact, at this point, I would even say that I desperately need them to fill out the blog some more, because right now it's rather bare. If you have a gear set that you're willing to share with others, send me a screenshot and the name of each item you're wearing. Thanks! 

As for myself, I'm currently trying to obtain the Light Steel Galerus and the Spring Skirt, but I'm on a very small server so things like that won't be up on the market for some time. 

First Post

Oh boy, the first post! Well, with 2.2 upon us in mere hours, it felt like the right time to get this thing up and running. Welcome to Moogle Fashion! This page is dedicated to keeping all of you looking as stylish as possible while you adventure across Eorzea. 

If you're visiting us in the not-so-distant future and we're no longer called Moogle Fashion, it means we finally came up with a better name! If not, then... wow... we really dropped the ball on that one... Anyway, for now there will be two posters on Moogle Fashion. Firstly, I'm Rin, and I'll be posting a couple outfits here in a few minutes. The other poster is Tsuruya, who will hopefully be with us before the end of the weekend. 

Well, enough of me talking. I hate to end a post so unceremoniously, but if you've come here then likely the only thing you care about is finding great outfits for your character, so I'll waste no further time and start providing that!
